Ecological and Sustainable Products available from Cornish Lime
|
Cornish Lime is involved in a research programme in conjunction with Plymouth University. We are heavily committed to developing sustainable and environmentally friendly products for both building conservation and new build projects. We aim to reduce and recycle waste wherever possible and have recently invested in the necessary plant and equipment needed to manufacture cob blocks. Production will start shortly and this venture will enable us to recycle waste from our manufacturing site into a sustainable and quality product which will be competitively priced. Cob blocks are used in the repair and rebuilding of cob and earth buildings and are manufactured from clay, straw and sand. Our Hempsulate render is made from hemp, lime and recycled minerals. It is a low carbon alternative to gypsum based plasters and renders and has particularly good thermal properties. Being a “breathable” product it is a perfect material for renovation work or as a practical and healthy option in new build projects. |
Our Aglaia Natural Paint range is manufactured from plant extracts. Aglaia are one of only two companies who offer a full and frank declaration of the ingredients used in their paints. Completely environmentally friendly these paints are suitable for anyone with asthma, allergies or those looking to create a healthy, VOC free atmosphere for their homes. We also offer Naturepaint which is a range of paints is manufactured in Cornwall using natural and local material like china clay. Naturepaint is 100% non-toxic and contains no petrochemicals or VOC’s. Sheepswool insulation offers a natural and sustainable solution to both consumption of energy and the effects of climate change. Wool is a better insulator and generates heat when it absorbs moisture. Wool insulation is not only breathable but absorbs, retains and releases moisture without affecting its thermal properties. Sheepswool insulation can be used in lofts, rafter, internal all and inter-floor use. It has excellent acoustic properties and is naturally fire retardant. In the event of a fire, wool will not add to the fire risks and produces no toxic gases. |
