Good morning
Very impressed with the advice you are giving on your website so could I ask a little for myself?
I live in a barn converted about 20 years ago where some of the internal walls have been lined with modern building block and what appears to be a concrete based render (not plaster) with cavities whilst other areas display the original stone. There is no damp problem. We now intend to decorate the rendered walls (not the stonework) which appear to already have been painted with emulsion. Is it Ok to use Dulux Diamond matt? Or what do you suggest?
Thanking you in anticipation
Good Afternoon Keith and thank you for your kind comments.
In regards to your question if you are painting the areas that are cavity wall the requirement for breathability/vapour permeability isn't really necessary as the cavity should deal with any moisture that can enter the building. That said we do supply large volumes of paint for modern applications (cavity wall) as it offers an environmentally friendly alternative to modern paints and in the vast majority of cases improved durability.
If you have any questions please give us a call on 01208 79779.
Kind Regards
Adam
